Hawaii County Police have confirmed they’ve located and arrested Kulani Correctional Facility inmates Matthew Alani and Lorrin Nakapalau, who escaped from the prison Friday night.
The two inmates are now in police custody. Alani and Nakapalau were reported missing from a headcount at approximately 8:35 p.m. on Friday. How they escaped is under investigation.
Alani is serving time for second-degree robbery, while Nakapalau is serving time for a prior escape.
